Samuel Eto’o Joins Sampdoria From Everton
Samuel Eto’o has completed his transfer to Italian club Sampdoria on a free transfer from Everton.
Everton confirmed the move via their official website and twitter account. Eto’o himself also tweeted to confirm the move.
“I have the pleasure to announce that I have signed a contract with U.C. Sampdoria for 3.5 years,” the Cameroonian tweeted.
The player’s former manager Roberto Martinez also took the opportunity to thank the striker, before remarking on Eto’o’s European contributions to the club.
“We thank Samuel for his efforts and for bringing his know-how to the team and to Finch Farm, where he passed on some of his terrific experience to all of the young players in particular,” Martinez is quoted to have said on Everton’s official website.
“The memory of his performances in Europe stand out especially.
“On behalf of all Evertonians, we wish him well for the next chapter in his career.”
Samuel Eto’o joined Everton on a free transfer last August and has scored four goals in 20 appearances for the club.
