Liverpool have been credited with interest and are set to make a move for Bayern Munich’s talented forward, Xheridan Shaqiri.
The 23-year-old Swiss star has failed to break into Pep Guardiola’s starting XI, with the likes of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mario Gotze all ahead of him in the pecking order. For this reason, Shaqiri will be attracted by a move to Anfield where he will be all-but guaranteed a starting role, after showcasing his talent at last summer’s World Cup for his country, with whom he has won 41 caps.
The Red’s interest in the star was confirmed by Sky Sports expert, Ray Parlour, with the former Arsenal player discussing a possible transfer earlier today.
“It’s a move that he would be very interested in because he is not playing on a regular basis,” he told Morning View.
“He is only 5’6” and Liverpool have a lot small players already, but he has potential and at 23 he is already very experienced for his age. He would be a good signing.
Parlour went on to discuss Shaqiri’s quality as a player, before concluding that Liverpool will take the issue of bring him to the club very seriously.
“He has played with some top quality players. He always wants the ball, can go past players. Tracking back is probably not his game, but he can create chances.
“With his calibre at being at Bayern, Liverpool have to have a serious look at him.”
