Group E
Full Time: Bayern Munich 3-0 CSKA Moscow
Date: 10 December 2014
Venue: Allianz Arena
Goals from Thomas Muller, Sebastian Rode and Mario Gotze crushed the UEFA Champions League dreams of CSKA Moscow following a 3-0 win for the German outfit on Wednesday night.
The loss for CSKA in a Group E match at the Allianz Arena signifies the end of their 2014/15 season in the continent’s most prestigious cup.
The result sees Bayern top Group E with 15 points, followed by Manchester City on eight points who qualified for the knockout stages with a 2-0 win over Roma also on Wednesday night.
Roma finished in third and CSKA last, both on five points form their six group games – Roma will at least enter the Eruopa League where they will hope to salvage some pride.

Bayern controlled proceedings from the onset, but their decision making and shooting in the final third was poor.
They were, however, gifted the perfect chance to take the lead in the 17th minute when Franck Ribery was pulled down inside the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.
Muller stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to give his side the lead and in doing so record his 24th Champions League goal, 1-0.
In the 22nd minute CSKA had a great chance to go level when Seydou Doumbia broke behind the Bayern defence, but he was superbly denied in a one-on-one with Manuel Neuer.
In the 36th minute Gotze thought he had double his side’s lead when he was put through on goal by Ribery and found the back of the net with his finish, but his goal was disallowed due to him being off-sides.
Bayern started the second half positively and Robert Lewandowski came close in the 51st minute when he saw his 18-yard effort turned around the post by the fingertips of the goalkeeper.
In the 69th minute CSKA had a glorious chance to draw level when Ahmed Musa broke in behind the Bayern defence, but with just the keeper to beat he shot wide of goal.
In the 80th minute Lewandowski failed to put the game beyond reach for CSKA when the Bayern striker broke through on goal and rounded the keeper before seeing his shot strike the post.
Four minutes later, though, Rode did wrap up matters when found Bayern’s second goal when he headed home an inch perfect cross, 2-0.
The icing on the cake was Gotze’s goal in the dying minutes of the match to make it 3-0.
