Manchester City were dumped out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 to Championship side, Middlesbrough, at the Etihad.
Manuel Pellegrini named a strong starting line up to face the Championship side, with Vincent Kompany, Sergio Augero, Stefan Jovetic and Jesus Navas.
Middlesbrough goalkeeper, Mejias, proved to be in inspired form in the first half, as he kept out Jovetic's stinging effort from distance.
Mejias denied City the opener once again in the 35th minute, this time palming away David Silva's strike from 20-yards out.
Middlesbrough struggled to create any openings in the first half but took the lead in the 53rd minute, as Patrick Bamford pounced on some sloppy defending from City to slid home into an empty.
The visitors should have doubled the lead minutes later but Lee Tomlin had his close range effort saved by Willy Cabalero.
Tomlin then went even close for Middlesbrough in the 63rd minute, the midfielder turned Kompany with ease before firing an effort against the upright.
City pushed for the equaliser in the closing stages and came close in the 89th minute, as Frank Lampard's deflected effort crashed onto the upright.
The visitors then sealed the win in stoppage time, as Kike showed great composure to slot into the far corner, after some good work by Bamford.
