UEFA Champions League Match Report: Barcelona 3-1 PSG 2014

UEFA Champions League
Result: Barcelona 3-1 PSG
Date: 10 December 2014
Venue: Camp Nou
Lionel Messi was on target once more as Barcelona beat PSG 3-1 to top the UEFA Champions League Group F on Wednesday night.
PSG drew first blood in the 15th minute. Zlatan Ibrahimovic silenced the home support as he confidently finished with a first-time shot after Lucas played it on for Matuidi who held up the ball before setting it up for the Swede to smash home.
It took the Catalans only four minutes to respond. A long ball found Luis Suarez on the left wing and he evaded his marker to send a cross towards the far post where Lionel Messi thumped the ball into the back of the net.

The Parisians put pressure on their hosts once more around the half-hour mark. Ibrahimovic instigated the attacking movement and cut the ball back for Edinson Cavani to side-foot a shot towards the bottom corner of the goal, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen was ready to make the save.
A piece of individual brilliance gave Barca the lead in the 41st minute. Neymar gained possession just inside the PSG half and continued to move forward before unleashing a phenomenal 20-yard strike that curled into the far side of the goal with Salvatore Sirigu beaten at full stretch.
The result was put beyond doubt in the 77th minute when Suarez added his name to the scorers' list. After some quick passing around the PSG box, Neymar had room to get a shot away. It was parried by Sirigu but only as far as Suarez who directed it home.
