Manchester United are said to be preparing a mammoth £100m package deal to ensure they land Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria before the end of the transfer window. United boss Louis van Gaal is reportedly willing to do whatever it takes to bring the Argentine to Old Trafford, fully aware he needs to bolster his squad following Saturday’s opening day defeat to Swansea. Di Maria has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu all summer, with both United and big-spending French champions Paris Saint-Germain both keen on the 26-year-old. And with PSG admitting Di Maria could prove too expensive for them this summer, Van Gaal doesn’t want to let the opportunity slip. The Dutchman, according to the Daily Mail, has told chief executive Ed Woodward to go full-out for the winger and United are believed to be lining up a £50m bid, alongside offering Di Maria a £200,000-a-week, five-year contract, in a package totalling £100m.
Eto’o wants Arsenal move
Though Liverpool are said to be looking to bring in Cameroon veteran Samuel Eto’o it appears the former Chelsea man is desperate to secure a move to Arsenal according to The Sun. The 33 year old free agent is looking for a new club and could perhaps be a player Arsene Wenger considers despite his usual reticent attitude towards moves for players in the latter stages of their careers. Eto’o has been talking to many EPL sides, and others around the world, but it’s believed he wants to remain in London, and with Arsenal needing a veteran forward, why shouldn’t they agree a deal?
Manchester United agree £16m-plus-Nani fee for Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo
Manchester United have agreed a £16 million fee for Sporting Lisbon left-back Marcos Rojo and will send Nani back to his old club as part of the deal, according to Goal. Rojo has attracted plenty of attention after some fine performances for Sporting Lisbon last season and the 24-year-old was included in Argentina’s talented World Cup squad over the summer. He excelled in Brazil and his performances at left-back have attracted the attention of Premier League clubs. United have been in negotiations for over a week now and it could be soon that the deal is announced. Louis van Gaal, in-order to get Rojo, will send Nani back to Lisbon on a season-long loan deal. The former Sporting man has struggled since moving to Old Trafford and a switch back home might help rejuvenate his career.Nani is wanted by Sporting Lisbon, and Manchester United want Lisbon’s Rojo, so the clubs are currently trying to work out a deal that will see both players swap teams, as well as satisfying the financial needs of the players and the clubs. The Portuguese giants are also looking into taking former Portuguese midfielder Anderson, who is set for the exit door this summer.
