Chelsea boss happy with victory over sporting lisbon despite wasteful attack

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is happy at his side for picking up all three points despite seeing a handful of opportunities in front of goal being wasted as they proved victors with a close fought 1-0 score line,Skysports reports.
Diego Costa was through on goal on multiple occasions as the Blues inch-perfect passing tore through the Sporting defence time and time again, but they were unable to capitalize on their chances until Nemanja Matic’s header gave them the vital lead.
Their boss was pleased with the overall performance from his squad but still ruled the miss opportunities that could have finished the game off.
“Three points is three points,” he said. “We lost two at home and now we have picked up three away from home.
“Chelsea are a young team who sometimes show a lack of efficiency in front of goal. Sporting lost but they have arguments that they can qualify.
“We didn’t kill the game off but we played very well, very compact and we had complete dominance in defence. Now it is time to rest and then we will think about Arsenal.”
